X and O

Happy Valentine's Day!

This isn't usually a holiday where I decorate, but found this cute little table topper kit at Sew Lux Fabrics and thought it was fun! If you haven't been to their website, check them out. They have great sales and they are quick fulfilling orders, which come wrapped in cute brown and pink polka-dot paper and tied with ribbon!

I think it turned out pretty cute too.  The kit included a mini charm pack, background, backing and binding fabric of "Surrounded by Love" by Deb Strain for Moda.
It's adorable fabric - bright and cheery!

It's not large - 15 x 21 - but it will look cute on a side table with the little dish I found at the grocery store.  I'm into the mini quilts lately. They are quick and easy and turn out very cute! Sorry the pictures are a bit dark. It was a gloomy day when I took the picture.

Here is the back. Isn't it cute!? Little heart flowers.  I added two corner pockets in case I  also wanted to use it as a wall hanging.  And what's not to love about the chevron binding!
Then some basic straight-line stitching and it was done!

Have a happy day and be sure and hug everyone you love today and everyday!

"She Who Sews" Blog Hop!

Welcome to the "She Who Sews" Blog Hop!  Sorry for the delay in posting. I had MAJOR problems getting my post to load today! Very frustrating but it's done!
Today is my day to show you my loverly sewing accessories.

Thank you to Madame Samm and Carla from Creatin' in the Sticks for being great cheerleaders! All of the projects so far have been wonderful!

The challenge of this blog hop was to sew something using a specific fabric series and sew items for our sewing rooms. What a great opportunity this was for me to help organize and decorate!

We used the "She Who Sews" Collection of Handmaids by Quilting Treasures.

This fabric is so fun! I only purchased a few pieces but they are all lovely. And they feel wonderful!

I made these lovely hanging organizers.  They are from a McCall's Kwik Sew Pattern #K3900. They came in 4 sizes. I made the large, extra small and medium. I still need to make the small one. Very easy peasy pattern. I love the way they turned out!  I used 2 of the smaller panels on 2 of the bags and the flowers on the small one and the ruler fabric lines all of them and very heavyweight interfacing so they will not be floppy. I'm not really sure what I'm going to store in them, but I'm sure I'll think of something! I have a TON of stuff!

I also made this AWESOME Pins & Snips Stay Put pincushion and thread catcher! I LOVE
it! Again I used one of the panels for the top. I almost don't want to stick pins in her!  It was designed by my wonderful Chica friend, Karen at SewMuch2Luv. You NEED to check out her awesome project bags and aprons. They are the bomb! And she's also participating in today's blog hop so be sure to go to her blog and check out her project!

The top. I love the panels!

The thread catcher.  Nice and big. Gotta love jumbo rick-rack!

I also made this machine table rug so my scissors and seam ripper and other accessories don't slide or get banged around when I'm sewing. I love the paper dolls and the buttons fabric is so stinkin' cute! And doesn't it look cute next to my Maggie! (I call my Janome Magnolia "Maggie". My husband thinks I'm weird.)

These were very fun projects and I love the way they turned out. They are a wonderful addition to my sewing room.

If you are excited to see what the other hoppers (listed below) have made from the same fabric collection, hop on over to their blogs! Leave a comment and you'll make their day!
