My Adventure Book

I love the Disney movie "UP".  It was cute and heartwarming and I love the dog "Dug" and the crotchety old man.  My husband is like Ellie in the movie.  He is a man of never-ceasing adventure.  He will try anything once and if he likes it, then he we are in for the long haul.  So this means that I camp (thank goodness we have a trailer), hike, am learning to fly-fish and paddle a pontoon boat on a river with moving water.  I do not like moving water.  In fact, I don't like water very much at all.  He's also a cyclist and he bought me an expensive bicycle last year and even expected me to ride it with him.  This I actually do and I have to admit - I even like it.  It's good for me and I've ridden farther, longer and up and down more hills than I ever thought I would.  He would like me to join him in scuba diving (did I mention I don't do water) but I don't think that is for me.  I can't understand why anyone would want to jump off a perfectly good boat, into water where they can't see the bottom and swim with fish bigger than they are that could eat them for lunch.  Go figure....anyhoo...I digress.

Recently my friend, Regena, presented me with my very own "Adventure Book" and an adventure pin like Ellie gives Carl in the movie.  I have badges that I have to earn and pictures I have to draw and for each accomplishment, I earn a badge.  I love them!  This year I am working toward earning my Black Belt in Uechi-ryu Karate.  This is one of my biggest adventures in 2011.  And yes - Regena has added this to my adventure book.  She will have the honor of pinning my adventure pin to my karate uniform when I earn my Black Belt. I will keep you posted on the other badges earned!

  1. I can't wait!!!!! I don't care what sensei says, you are wearing that dang badge!!!!!!

  2. Gosh'd better be careful or more people are going to find out how awesome you are!

Denise....what an awesome wifie you are to do all those things with your hubby! My hubby wants me to ride on the back of his motorcycle (which I have done maybe 5 times in 5 years) but at least they want us to be with them in their adventures and that means alot!

  3. motorcycles, no way!! I want massive amounts of ozone depleting metal surrounding me when out on the roads!!
